Biography

A knowledgeable, diplomatic, and conscientious Youth and Community Work consultant and researcher with eleven years extensive experience of Higher Education as a Senior Lecturer, and Academic Subject Manager, with over twenty-five years’ experience of Youth and Community Work. Key strengths include the leadership, management and development of diverse, cross-functional teams to deliver academically rigorous and engaging programmes across Youth and Community Work, Foundation Years, and Social Policy. Head of Research Cluster for Youth and Community Work and Foundation Years. Possessing excellent written, verbal, and inter-personal skills and abilities that can be utilised across all levels of Higher Education and professional Youth and Community Work and Social Care Practice. Effectively analysing existing systems and processes within Higher Education, Youth and Community Work and Social Care Practice to inform and drive change and increase the quality of teaching and learning and Youth and Community Work. Currently undertaking a professional doctorate in Social and Public Policy focussing upon the retention and progression of Foundation Year Students, specialising in visual methods of data collection. Representative on Education and Training Standards Committee Wales. Member of the Strategy Participation Group, on behalf of the Interim Youth Work Board for Youth Work in Wales focusing upon Workforce Development and the development of the Leadership & Management Training Programme for Youth Work in Wales. Six years’ experience as an External Examiner (Academic) within Youth and Community Work and Social Care. Chair of National Youth Work Organisation – Youth Cymru.
