External Examiner
University of Cambridge

The University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for the Foundation Year in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences programme which begins in October 2022. 

We would welcome expressions of interest from persons of seniority who have appropriate experience and/or knowledge of arts, humanities and social sciences at Level 4 or other foundation level provision.

External Examiner
University of Leeds: Lifelong Learning Centre 

The Arts and Humanities Foundation Year at the Lifelong Learning Centre, University of Leeds, requires an External Examiner from June 2022 to July 2025. Closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 16 May 2022.  

Applicants should have an academic background/ specialism within the Arts and Humanities and be experienced foundation year practitioners. Ideally, applicants should have experience as an external examiner. Mentoring is available for applicants without experience. 

The Arts and Humanities Foundation Year is a one-year programme which offers progression onto a degree in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures at the University of Leeds. The course is designed for learners from widening participation backgrounds. The external examiner role covers five core 20 credit Level 0 modules: ‘Modernity and Post-Modernity’, ‘Religion, Politics and Society’, ‘Image, Music and Text’, ‘Communications’ and ‘The Renaissance.’  

As well as providing a quality assurance role, the programme team warmly welcomes discussion, exploration and sharing of best practice on teaching, learning and assessment. For this academic year, the role will include completion of external examiner quality assurance processes for the 2021-22 academic year.
